NIME & DFC MOU

Today was so significant for International Network of Women in Business: NIME and the women entrepreneurs who are members. NIME and the Development Finance Corporation signed an MOU. This strategic partnership aims to foster collaboration and support for the growth and development of women-owned businesses in Belize. It also signifies a major step towards DFC’s goal of positioning itself as the “Bank for Women”.

This collaboration outlines the mutual strategic goals shared between DFC and NIME Belize, which is to support the development of women-led and women-owned businesses in Belize. I am so happy to be part of NIME's Board and to have been part of the process to make this happen! 11 Sept., 2024

WIPO: IP for Women Entrepreneurs Project

Today was the closing of the WIPO Project: IP for Women Entrepreneurs Project in the Caribbean. Dr. Adriani Coleman along with eight other NIME members completed the six month long training. Congratulations to all the women from the Caribbean who also completed the training!

The training encompassed the basics of IP, identifying your IPs, the importance of IP, creating value through IP. Overall, an important component of being a business owner is to protect your valuable assets, IP included.

This is a particularly challenging area for MSMEs, and trainings such as these, greatly assist and advance the entrepreneurial journey. Many thanks to WIPO and BELIPO for the wonderful opportunity. STEAM at OWTHS

Dr. Adriani Coleman extends her heartfelt gratitude to the administration, teachers and sophomore students of Orange Walk Technical High School. Dr. Coleman did a STEAM presentation to sophomore students as they choose their major and consider their future career paths.

Students heard a very short presentation on STEAM, the skills needed, and the different ways of thinking. Students were then challenged to build the tallest standing tower with limited paper and tape using the engineering method of thinking. They had to design, test, and iterate all within a very short time frame-8 minutes. It was fun to watch!

Students also had to apply STEM skills in three main areas: critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. They did not disappoint! It is amazing how young people are so willing and resilient to rise to challenges and face them.

After the challenge, the towers were measured and the winning team talked about what worked, what didn't work, and how they can use this method of thinking for other things. Kudos to the brilliant students at OWTHS! June 5, 2024

DLPS at FINTECH

The FINTECH Forum hosted by BELTRAIDE was highly insightful and reflected the changing landscape of e-commerce, digital wallets, and a shift in digital cash products in Belize. It was interesting to learn all that the financial institutions were offering, each looking at different aspects of business.

Two panel discussions were held as well bringing more insight on the challenges, risks and opportunities for Belizeans, MSMEs and individuals where digital currency, digitization, and transformation are necessary.

Dr. Coleman represented as a International Network of Women in Business: NIME board member as well as DLPS' lead Digital Learning Specialist. She met and networked with many like-minded entrepreneurs at the networking session.

Forums like this open a world of possibilities especially to the MSMEs in the market. The forum was streamed live on Beltraide's page. June 1, 2024

International Girls in ICT Day 24

Our lead digital learning and development specialist, Dr. Adriani Coleman, was a panelist and a mentor at the International Girls in ICT Day 2024 activity hosted by the Ministry of Public Utilities , Energy, Logistics & E-Governance. The day was filled with interesting activities for the young ladies present at the event. It kicked off with an unveiling of the "Tech Titans" comic book written by Ramy Molina, Civil Engineer. Following that excitement, the young ladies listened to two panels answer questions about their journeys in the ICT field. Lastly, the young ladies met and got mentored by the panelists in a speed mentoring activity.

Leadership Workshop 2024

Reflecting on the amazing International Women in Business Leadership Workshop 2024! The workshop was a collaboration by International Network of Women in Business: NIME , Global Service Partnerships, and @coaching_with_melanie Vision & Strategy Coach! Our lead digital learning and development specialist, Dr. Adriani Coleman, had the honor to attend. She even met her childhood role model, Michelle Kwan! The valuable lessons that she continues to learn is assisting her in developing herself and her business. It's amazing to be able to meet, network and collaborate with women entrepreneurs from all over. All these ladies are leading, making waves, and charting paths for future female entrepreneurs! Dr. Adriani Coleman assisted as an official at the Miss Belize Universe pageant 2024! It was an amazing experience, and one that she gladly assisted. She got to see firsthand the mechanics, logistics, and immense planning behind the scenes. She also got to meet some incredible Belizeans! Work can take you to unexpected places. April 13, 2024

Our lead digital learning and development specialist, Dr. Adriani Coleman, is a Curipod ambassador. She used Curipod for her keynote speech!

Curipod has AI generators that assist presenters to have interactive slides which help with quick formative assessments and audience interaction. You can create so many activities using Curi's AI generators, or you can create your own. Activities include question and answers, polls, brain breaks, check-ins, exit tickets and much, much more. So awesome!

On Friday, 23 Feb., 2024, Adriani Coleman, our Lead Digital Learning Consultant, gave a speech at SCA's Career Day. On this day, sophomores are invited to listen to guest presenters before they decide on their majors. After a fun handshaking activity, Adriani presented on being in the STEAM field to the young ladies so that they can also consider starting a career path in the field. Great going to SCA for giving students perspectives on different fields so that they can make an informed decision!

Adriani Coleman is now a proud member of the Executive Board of NIME, the International Network of Women in Business. At the one year anniversary of NIME, the announcement of the new board members was made as well as the unveiling of NIME's new logo and the launch of the website. In November 2023, the Fast Track program sponsored by Impact Hub Managua officially concluded with a virtual ceremony. Adriani Coleman is an official Curipod ambassador. Curipod is an interactive tool where your slideshow presentations can be integrated with activities for your audience. The tool uses AI to help to generate slides, images, content, activities and much more. September 23

National Day of Service-Sept. 19

Adriani Coleman created an AI enhanced video tribute to two of Belize's National Heroes.

The Rt. Hon. George Price is known as the Father of the Nation as he led Belize to Independence in 1981. In this video, he is shown saying Belize's National Prayer. However, the prayer is actually only in audio format. Using AI, his voice was integrated with his picture giving a natural appearance, making it almost believable that it is a video of him praying. Rt. Hon. George Price was a devout Catholic all of his life; therefore, it felt right to have an audio of him praying for our country. Additionally, as the Father of the Nation, this tribute had significant meaning.

In the second part of the video, the Hon. Philip S.W. Goldson, known as the Father of Democracy was featured. Hon. Philip Goldson was an activist in Belize who also created the United Democratic Party. Using AI, Hon. Goldson's voice was extracted from an interview and integrated with a picture of him in his prime years. It felt right to use his audio on his two political philosophies as they embody his activism and love of country.
